Yishai Sarid
The author of six bestselling books, Yishai Sarid is one of Israel’s most acclaimed fiction writers. Limassol, an international bestseller, was awarded the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière for Best Foreign Crime Novel (France, 2011), the SNCF Award (France, 2011), the Maria Giorgetti International Award (Italy, 2013), and was shortlisted for the prestigious the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award (Ireland, 2012). His fourth book, The Third, set in the near future, depicts the destruction of Tel Aviv in a nuclear attack followed by the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem. Awarded the Bernstein Literary Prize, the novel prompted fierce public debate about Israel’s future. His fifth book, The Memory Monster, was one of the New York Times 100 Notable Books of 2020; its 2021 theatrical adaptation has been a huge commercial and critical success in Israel.
An attorney by training, Sarid was a public criminal prosecutor for several years, and now works in private practice.
